Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday inaugurated the primary segment of the Nagpur-Mumbai 'Samruddhi Expressway' here.

The first segment connects Nagpur to the temple metropolis of Shirdi in Ahmednagar district masking a distance of 520 km.

The duration of the whole project, formally named as 'Hindu Hrudaysamrat Balasaheb Thackeray Maharashtra Samruddhi Mahamarg', can be 701 km.
