In urban areas of India, the unemployment rate was higher at 8.96%, compared to 7.55% in rural areas.
The Centre for Monitoring Indian Economy said that in November, the nation's jobless rate reached a three-month high of 8%. (CMIE).
According to the CMIE data released on Thursday, the jobless rate in urban parts of India was higher at 8.96% while it was lower in rural areas at 7.55%.
In October of this year, the unemployment rate in urban areas was 7.21% while in rural areas it was 8.04%.
With a rate of 30.6%, Haryana continued to have the highest unemployment in the nation among the states. Rajasthan was next with a rate of 24.5%, Jammu and Kashmir had a rate of 23.9%, Bihar had a rate of 17.3%, and Tripura had a rate of 14.5%.
The states with the lowest unemployment rates during the preceding month were Chhattisgarh (0.1%), Uttarakhand (1.2%), Odisha (1.6%), Karnataka (18.%), and Meghalaya (2.1%).
According to the report, India's jobless rate in October was 7.77%, compared to a low of 6.43% in September.
